An original mid century abstract painting by celebrated British artist Trevor Bell. Dated to approximately 1978.
A beautifully, sensitive abstract painting in gouache on paper. The painting reminds us of ovaries or a baby, with the open shape folding over into itself, evoking the idea of safety and protection. The colours add to the sense of connection with peach, red, browns and blue connecting to one another. Bell made a series of gouache paintings where the paint was applied with a very dry brush, more like a drawing, this creates a very bold impression of the colours against the plain white paper ground.
